It all started in Dec 2007, Danny had a mole removed from his back, which came back positive for Melanoma. So he had to have a larger portion from his back removed and also a sentinel node removed. That lymph node came back negative. During a 3 month followup CT, they found an enlarged lymph node under his right arm. So hey went in and removed 2 more lymph nodes and they came back negative. Danny's surgeon noticed a lymph node farther back that was big but did not remove it trying to preserve Danny's sense of feeling in that arm and prevent swelling(
lymphedema). One week later, his surgeon decide this one had to come out. So for the 3rd time in 2 weeks , Danny went to surgery and had another node removed. This time it came back positive. So it was decided all his lymph nodes on that side needed to come out. So Danny faced another surgery last week to remove any nodes that remained. As a family, we are adjusting to the news and preparing to fight.
We need your help in 2 ways.
1. We need your prayers.
2. We need you to post on this blog words of encouragement and support for Danny.
I will be updating this blog often with updates so you as family and friends can know whats going on.

Danny,
Hi it's Julie Ellert (Krombein now). I want you to know that we will be putting your prayer request our on our church prayer chain.
I live in Arizona too - in Surprise. We came out here 3 years ago to start a church, Calvary Chapel Surprise. It's been a blessing. As we get older, it just seems as though life is but a vapor (the Bible says that). I am so very thankful that Heaven is my Eternal home.
I will be praying for you that God would heal your body but even more importantly, that He would fill you with His love and His peace.
Tell Corina to post pictures of your family (kids and grandkids).
with love and prayers,
Julie K
Hi Danny Casares, you probably don't remember me. I was your little sister Corina's friend and although her and I have not spoken in years I received this request for prayers and encouragement. The prayers are easy and the least I can do. The encouragement is to live each day to it's fullest and surround yourself positive thought and laughter, lots of laughter! I wish you all the best and although it's been so long I have forgotten what you look like?? Seriously, I have a vague memory of you in the halls at Rancho from the 70's. Probably not your best look. I'll leave you with this....Of all forms of caution, caution in love is perhaps the most fatal to true happiness.—Bertrand Russell
I am sending you love, happiness and positive thoughts. Take care.
Kathy Dougherty (now..Kat Wakula)
Danny, you don't know me but I am a friend of your sisters and your brother-in-law. My name is Jon Cardona. I heard about what was going on and want you to know that I am praying for you. In fact, before sending this message I spent some time in prayer for you, your family, and the doctors. I will continue to pray and look for the updates on your condition. I hope this blogs reminds you that you're not alone, even crazy people that you've never met are with you. :)
Hello Danny and Rina, Its me Ruben Aguilera. Been way too long since I saw you both. I will always cherish all the great memories of growing up with you in the old neighborhood, me on Bently ave and you on Santa Rosalia, Garden Grove Ca. I am living in the Dallas Texas area, based at DFW airport w/ AAirlines. Hey I know you as a scrappy tough character, a fighter indeed. Never one to start crap but would never back away and take on any problems head on in a fearless way.I remeber how you where always so full of excess energy and all. I remeber playing basketball in your driveway all day and into the night. You and ME and our crazy Brothers, Dave and Tommy. It always usually ended with us 3, You, Tommy and Me ganging up on the big bully Dave for cheating so much ha ha ha. You and Tommy would hit him low on the legs and I would hit him high and eventually would take him down. Was great times brother. Hey I certainly have you in my thoughts and prayers and will add you in the prayer request at my church. Hang in there buddy and fight like I know you can. Miss you and would like to see you again soon. Your friend then and always. Ruben Aguilera. rubendfw@yahoo.com
Danny,
This is your cousin Jerry here in Las Cruces. I want to tell you that we are thinking of you and have you in our prayers.
Last year we had the opportunity to see each other in Arrey and I sure enjoyed seeing all of you with your family.
As we were gathered around the table, we had a chance to recall those funny and silly moments that brought laughter to our conversation. I have many good memories growing up with all of my cousins.
Whenever all of us would get together, we did not miss a beat. Open arms with lots of love. And it is still that way today. No matter how many years go by, we are always there for each other.
Let us pray together as family and friends for successful treatments and a quick recovery. Together we are strong joined with the powers from above.
You can count on us...
Love Always your cousin -
Jerry

Danny,
Hi! This is Mary Ehret (Petersen now!) I am you sisters oldest and best friend. I spent a lot of time at your house. I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer. I know it can be scary but put your trust in the Lord and he will give you strength to get through this. My husband and I pray for you and your family every morning and we will add you to the prayer chain we have at Harvest Christian Fellowship.
God Bless
Mary
Hi to Danny's family! My name is Royce i was very fortunate to work along side danny at Avnet for more than a year. I must say he had one of the most beautiful spirit i have ever seen in a human being. When he greeted us in the moring it was so high spirited that it commanded so much joy within myself! We talked alot about motorcycles and how he wanted a harley and wanted a bobber he just couldn't give me advice on how to get my wife to let me get a motorcycle lol lol........ My children and my wife and I were blessed to go and see him at the hospital last week, and we are honored to have spent those days with him. With a beautiful spirit like his I am sure the Almighty is pleased with him....Peace & Blessings
