Today is the Day

Today at 10:00 a.m. Danny will start Chemo. My mom drove down to help him the 1st week.
Danny is total grateful to everyone who has supported him in many ways.
His boss came and mowed his lawn over the weekend and the many calls and notes and comments on the blog he has received. Not only is Danny grateful but we(his whole family) are since we live in California and New Mexico.
So a big Thank You to all.

This week

Danny will be having a head CT tomorrow Thursday Sept. 18. This is part of his workup to make sure the cancer has not spread to any other ares. This is totally routine. On Friday, his surgeon is going to be placing a portal cath in his chest. This is used to infuse the chemo he will need and preserve his arm veins.
Up until now, Danny has been health so he has that on his side. I will post more on Friday.

The fight begins!

It all started in Dec 2007, Danny had a mole removed from his back, which came back positive for Melanoma. So he had to have a larger portion from his back removed and also a sentinel node removed. That lymph node came back negative. During a 3 month followup CT, they found an enlarged lymph node under his right arm. So hey went in and removed 2 more lymph nodes and they came back negative. Danny's surgeon noticed a lymph node farther back that was big but did not remove it trying to preserve Danny's sense of feeling in that arm and prevent swelling(lymphedema). One week later, his surgeon decide this one had to come out. So for the 3rd time in 2 weeks , Danny went to surgery and had another node removed. This time it came back positive. So it was decided all his lymph nodes on that side needed to come out. So Danny faced another surgery last week to remove any nodes that remained. As a family, we are adjusting to the news and preparing to fight.
We need your help in 2 ways.
1. We need your prayers.
2. We need you to post on this blog words of encouragement and support for Danny.
I will be updating this blog often with updates so you as family and friends can know whats going on.
